Accessibility Statement

R. Bradley Builders of Nantucket is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or other assistive technology.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for making web content more accessible. They set three levels of conformance: A, AA and AAA.

This website partially conforms with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. “Partially conforms” means most of the standard is met, and we know of some gaps, listed below. We have chosen to describe our position accurately rather than claim full conformance.

How we assessed this

This site was assessed on 1 August 2026 using automated testing with axe-core 4.10.2 across representative page templates, combined with a manual keyboard evaluation of every interactive element: navigation, the off-canvas menu, accordions, image galleries and all contact forms.

What we have addressed

  • Visible focus indicators on every interactive element, so keyboard users can always see where they are
  • Descriptive alternative text on images, covering the great majority of the photography on the site
  • Proper labels on all contact form fields, with related options grouped and named
  • Accessible names for icon-only buttons and image links
  • Text and interface colour contrast meeting the 4.5:1 minimum for body text
  • A working “skip to content” link, and a logical heading structure on each page
  • Touch and click targets meeting the minimum 24 by 24 pixel size

Known limitations

We are aware of the following, and intend to address them:

  • Screen reader testing has not yet been carried out. Our assessment used automated tools and keyboard testing. Automated tools detect roughly a third of accessibility issues, so some barriers may remain that only a screen reader user would encounter.
  • A small number of pages have headings that skip a level. This does not prevent access but can make navigating by headings less predictable.
  • Some third-party components are outside our direct control, including the spam-prevention widget on our forms and the embedded Google reviews. We have configured them as accessibly as their settings allow.
  • The image slider on our home page has no visible previous and next controls, so not every slide can be reached. It does not move on its own, so it will not interrupt reading.
